Indians wants both Roti and Bhakti
Balancing Roti (Indian bread) and Bakhti (devotion) is what most Indians seek today.
The results of the 2024 general elections show that Indians are not rejecting spirituality but rather seek to balance faith and food.
khādana खादन (the act of eating) is as important as sādhanā (the pursuit of spiritual attainment) in a conscious society.
The Dharma of a political leader is not to promise Moksha to its citizens.
Rather, (s)he must ensure that the Artha (prosperity) created by the country’s economy “trickles down” to ALL its citizens, rather than bring #Kama to just the elite.

It is said that Ramakrishna Paramhansa — the guru of Vivekananda— was obsessed with food.
His wife was ashamed by her husband’s obsession with food.
One day, she told him: “You are a great Saint. You are supposed to have no material needs. Aren’t you ashamed of your strong desire for food ?”
Ramakrishna replied: “The day I stop eating, you will know that I am about to die.”
One day, Ramakrishna stopped eating. Three days later, he achieved Samadhi (his soul left his body).
