Who Is Rich? It’s Matter of Perspective

Even well-meaning Americans ask me:

“If a POOR country like X can offer free healthcare and education to all its citizens, why can’t a RICH country like America do the same?!”

My answer:

“Oh, is America really rich ?! It depends on how you define WEALTH. That ‘poor’ country you mentioned, well, their GDP per capita may be 10x smaller than the US, but they value each human being at least 10x more than the US.

They provide free education and healthcare because they believe these are fundamental RIGHTS of all citizens, not PRIVILEGES enjoyed by a select few.”
